25 minutes and Chania International Airport in around

and you’ll come to the road which runs south across

First mentioned in the census of 1577 it is believed there was a village here centuries before that, while others claim this was the exact location of ancient Kydonia. Nowadays this traditional working village boasts a mini-market, kafenions, a taverna and has a regular bus service too.
Platanias is a 5 minute drive away, while Kolimbari takes 15 minutes and the old medieval stone city of Chania can be reached in less than 20 minutes. Chania International Airport, with its UK direct flights, takes 30 minutes, while Heraklion, Crete’s other airport is less than two hours away.
